Pita bread is really versatile, you can split the bread horizontally and add your favorite fillings for an easy sandwich or cut it into strips and use for dips. Pita bread is available in whole-grain and white versions, I would suggest the whole-grain variety because of the health benefits. You can find it in most natural food or grocery stores and it can be kept for about a week. For the fillings I have used salmon steaks, salmon is super healthy and is always a favorite among fish lovers and even enjoyed by those who are not always fond of fish. It’s a good idea to soak the defrosted salmon in slightly salted water and then to wipe dry before cooking.

Rinse the salmon steaks, thaw and pat dry with a paper towel. Remove any leftover bones or skin and steam up to 8 to 10 minutes or until done.

Now place the steaks in a bowl with the seasoning and mix it well with the mayonnaise then refrigerate and set aside.

Cut the pita bread into half, and slice the tomatoes and cucumber into thin slices.

Apply the salmon paste in the pita bread and arrange the tomatoes and cucumbers inside the bread along with the dill and serve.
